Falcons Knock Out Vitality to Set Up Spirit Clash in the Semis
Falcons beat Vitality 2-1 in the IEM Cologne Major quarter-finals, with m0NESY and kyousuke leading the charge across three tightly contested maps.
Falcons are in the semi-finals. In a quarter-final that went to all three maps — every single one decided 13-11 — Falcons knocked out Vitality and set up a blockbuster clash against Spirit. It is their fourth consecutive win over the defending champions, and their best Major result ever.
Quarter-Final — IEM Cologne Major 2026
Anubis: Falcons set the tone
Falcons came out aggressive on Anubis. kyousuke opened the match with a quad-kill in the pistol round and the team never looked back, rattling off a 5-0 start on the CT side. Vitality clawed some rounds back but could never find a foothold. Falcons won it 13-11 to take map one.
Inferno: Vitality hit back
Vitality were not done. On Inferno — their map pick — they finally found some consistency. ZywOo and ropz started to show up, and the team looked far more like themselves. Vitality took it 13-11 and levelled the series. A decider was coming.
Dust2: m0NESY closes it out
The decider on Dust2 was tight throughout — another 13-11 — but Falcons had m0NESY. He finished the series with a 1.26 rating and 63-40 K/D, and was the difference when it mattered most. Vitality could not match it. Falcons took the map and the series.
NiKo summed it up simply after the match: "We fought like crazy the whole time. I'm super proud of the boys. We kept our composure." Falcons now face Spirit in the semi-finals — the two best teams left standing.
